Learn to Cook!
The Cadet Culinary Training Unit provides cadets with essential culinary skills and food safety knowledge, preparing them to operate in both home and institutional envrionments. Participants will earn their Food Handler Certification, lear fundamental cooking techniques, and gain experience planning a meal. Training includes hands-on practice in cooking a variety of dishes - meats, poultry, pasta, vegetables, soups, and desserts - along with instruction in sanitation, some large-scale meal preparation, and field cooking. Cadets will also participate in a competitive cook-off to demonstrate their skills. Successful completion of this course earns the Cadet Culinary Badge and offers on-the-job training (OJT) by serving meals to fellow cadets.

The Cadet Culinary Course will help you do both! Develop the skills to go out into the world after high school and cook for yourself, your family, and friends. Pursue a job in the restaurant industry with skills developed before you even enter the workforce. Or maybe you just want to be more of a help at home in preparing meals for your family - this will give you those skills too!
